Nightingale Lodge # 612 was charted on the 15^th day of September 1947 under the constitution, laws and edicts of the Most Worshipful Smooth Ashlar Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Ancient York rite Masons  in and for the state of Georgia and the jurisdiction there unto belonging, etc.

 

On this day a constitutional number of worthy Master Masons, residing in and within the vicinity of Atlanta Georgia; they were Bro. Peter Thorpe, Bro. Washington Andrew,

Bro. Thomas Patten, Bro. Nathaniel Smith, Bro. Benjamin Lightbrun,

Bro. GeorgeW.Thompson, Bro. John H. Milner and Bro. Jackson Briney, and others having the good of Masonry at heart and the welfare and prosperity of the Royal Craft, etc, petition for a warrant to organize into a just and lawfully constituted Lodge of such.

 

Bro. Peter Thope was the first Worshipful Master, Bro. Washington Andrew the first Senior Warden and Bro. Thomas Patten the first Junior Warden and this Lodge was called Nightingale Lodge # 612.

 

This warrant was given under the hand of the Most Worshipful Grand Officers and the seal of the Grand Lodge for the state of Georgia.
